Many of us have tension patterns, some that will have been in place for many years. Some we can cope with, or at least have some coping mechanisms which may or may not be truly helpful, but others cause pain and discomfort on a daily basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I help people find positive ways to work with the pressures that they face by understanding how they react to them, then finding ways to be more in control of those reactions. When we feel more in control of ourselves and our reactions, then we can feel more in control of the outside world and less like we are being buffeted around. Learning how to be aware of how&nbsp;you are sitting, standing or moving enables you to prevent these pains from happening, and improve your postural tone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Increased freedom of movement and balance happen without you trying, and the resulting good posture is an added bonus!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Musicians find learning the Alexander Technique to be incredibly helpful to manage the stress of performance as well as learning how to play with less effort and greater ease.
